Matthew is just too cute. Can we keep him this way? No, I know. We will have the joy of watching the boy become an adolescent (tumultuous but wonderful too) and then, too quickly, and adult. I won't say that these early years are better than what is ahead (all life stages are challenging but necessary), but there is that special sweetness in having little people in the house. By some kind of miracle, we 60-year-olds now have 2 delightful babies living with us - so wonderful for us! Grandchildren are one of life's great rewards. We are so happy for you guys. We are happy for Matthew too because you are great parents.
