The big event of the month was our parish picnic which I am happy to say I have co-chaired for the last year. It's a lot of work, but it's work with a lot of great people. Unfortunately, I only took one pic/video since I was so busy.
Now that the picnic is over, it's nice to have some extra time just to hang out and do some fun things. We've been to the zoo a lot lately. Our latest trip was with Matthew's buddies, Tia and Michael.
I think that the kids have more fun on the playground than visiting the animals.
Other than that, there's not much new to report. Matthew continues with swimming and skating classes and will start hockey classes this fall. He has been in figure skating classes and has been doing very well. Unfortunately (or fortunately) he's progressed to the point that he's in a class with much older kids. So there's not much play time involved, so we will be making the move to hockey because it looks like the boys have so much fun playing around. He's still getting used to all the pads and everything and ironically can't walk well with his gear on, but actually skates pretty well looking like the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man. Grammie and Gramps were happy to provide him with his first hockey jersey.
Well, I'll close with a cute, but short (it got cut off a little too soon) of Matthew's "thinking" look.

so cute and not so shy!
Matthew is growing up! Sorry to hear about your chilly summer - at least you got to Lake Chelan, which looks wonderful. And Florida will be a great compensation for you all! We have had record rain AND record heat - all in one summer. Go figure. That really put a damper on my outdoor exercising. I think I managed 3-4 long walks all summer. At least our garden is bearing tons of cukes and tomatoes - very plentiful. And the good just keep on coming. We walk the excess produce around the neighborhood and encourage them to raid the backyard goodies. It has been a fun project this year. Our is a "raised bed" garden, which has really reduced the bugs and critters from robbing the goods. Vince is a real farmer ! And Ellen's enthusiasm keeps us all busy.
Hope to see you soon!
Gary
