Well...this blog was suppose to be a way to keep our friends and family updated about our move out west. As many of you have heard, we've had another potential life-changing event. We were chosen by a birth mother to adopt her newborn son. His name is Matthew and he was born on 5/26/2007. Although we are very excited, we remain cautiously optimistic. We are still knee-deep in the legal process, but hopefully we will have a court date in the next week or so and he will be allowed to come home with us shortly after that.In the meantime, we continue to get things ready for the move. Our movers arrive in a week and a half and Scott will start driving out west May 15th. Matthew is in host care now, so this gives us an opportunity to get things ready before he comes home and hopefully heads to Gig Harbor with us on June 25th.
I will keeping posting updates. The above picture is a view from the north side of the harbor which is only a half a mile walk from our place. We have rented a 2-bedroom condo until we figure out exactly where we want to buy a house (and we need to sell our house in Michigan).
Hope all is well with everyone. Please keep Matthew, his birth mother and us in your prayers.

Hi Kids,
You're probably Kwabena as the person making the comment. That's my Ghanaian name. It means I was born on Tuesday. Matthew was born on Saturday so his name is Kwame.
We've been looking at your blogspot for the first time. You guys are the greatest. Enjoy your little bundle of joy. He couldn't have better parents than you two.
Thanks for your wedding card. That was very thoughtful of you. You're in our prayers. We wish the best life has to offer.
Give Matthew a big hug and kiss for us. Hopefully we'll see you guys before he reaches drinking age.
God Bless.
Uncle Jon and Ama
